Dave Morgan

Harpsichord

Dave Morgan is a Filipino-American harpsichordist in Seattle, Washington.

Born in the Philippines and raised in rural West Virginia he is the only college-trained musician in his family, but his grandfather was a longtime fixture of the West Virginia bluegrass circuit as a fiddler and washtub bassist with the Sleepy Hollow Ramblers.

From 2013 - 2017, Dave was co-founder and harpsichordist of Queen City Musicians, a group that specialized in the performance of works from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

Dave received a Bachelor’s degree in Music Theory from West Virginia Wesleyan College, and attended the University of Colorado at Boulder for graduate studies in harpsichord under Elizabeth Farr. Since leaving Colorado for Washington, he has studied with harpsichordists Byron Schenkman and Jillon Stoppels Dupree, continuo with violinist Ingrid Matthews and lutenist/conductor Stephen Stubbs, participated in master classes with Ed Parmentier, Charlotte Mattax, and Jillon Stoppels Dupree, and received an Artist Diploma in Early Music from Cornish College of the Arts.
